Corporate Social Responsibility

Kordia has a number of initiatives in place as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.

Innovation to enhance our world

The main focus of Kordia’s CSR activities is a social investment programme which delivers on the values of Kordia’s brand, bottom line – harmonising people and technology.

Kordia is also conscious of potential environmental and community impacts from its operations, and sustainability is a core focus for the company.

Kordia social investment programme

Kordia is dedicated to investing in the communities in which it operates, and is focused on aligning these social investments with its core business and brand requirements by:

  • Building an educated workforce for New Zealand and Australia in future years through work with the Liggins Institute, the Square Kilometre Array project, IPENZ FutureInTech, and WorkChoice Day;
  • Signing on as the inaugural Foundation Partner for New Zealand’s Centre for Social Innovation

Kordia does CSR for kids

Each year, Kordia participates in the WorkChoice Day for Year 12 students as part of its ongoing work to foster an educated workforce for New Zealand in the future.

Eighty students and their teachers are hosted by experienced Kordia staff and given an inside guide to what Kordia does. The presentations take place at the Auckland head office, and in the Transmission Control Centre and Maritime Operations Centre at Avalon in Wellington.

Both students and supervisors give Kordia rave reviews , saying they go away informed and excited about pursuing a career in the technology, media and telecommunications industry.
